I liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. Every time it seemed like it was becoming predictable, another plot twist was thrown in that made it even more interesting. I also really enjoyed the historical references to the creatures they were studying, as well.
Also, I tend to dislike books that have main characters younger than I am and books that are set in the 1800s or earlier. And both of those traits are present in this book.
I can’t wait for the second in the series.
